Getting Started

Quick Start

Download Clauge, install it, and get to your first useful session in a few minutes.

This guide walks you through every step on Windows, macOS, and Linux — from download to your first AI Agent session.

Free for personal use. Sign-in requires a registered organization — see Step 3.

Step 1 — Download

Grab the latest build for your machine from clauge.ai or the cards below.

macOS

Apple Silicon and Intel

Windows

x64 and ARM64

Linux

Debian and RPM packages

Older builds and release notes: Changelog.

Step 2 — Install

With the installer downloaded, pick your platform and follow the steps.

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag Clauge into Applications.
  3. Launch Clauge from Applications.

On first launch, macOS may ask you to confirm that you trust the application.

open /Applications/Clauge.app
  1. Run the downloaded .exe installer.
  2. Follow the installation wizard.
  3. Launch Clauge from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Administrator privileges may be required during installation.

Clauge-setup.exe

Install the package you downloaded with your package manager:

sudo dpkg -i clauge_*.deb

or

sudo rpm -i clauge_*.rpm

Debian / Ubuntu use .deb. Fedora / RHEL use .rpm.

Once Clauge is installed, you’re ready to start using it.

Step 3 — Open and sign in

Launch Clauge from your desktop, Start menu, or Applications folder. You should see the welcome screen.

Sign-in works only with an organization account for an organization that is already registered with Clauge. If your organization is not registered yet, contact support@clauge.ai to get set up.

Step 4 — Start your first agent

AI Agents are the fastest way to begin working in Clauge.

  1. Open Agents from the sidebar.
  2. Create a new agent session.
  3. Choose the AI model you want to use.
  4. Give the session a clear name so you can find it later.

Step 5 — Connect your project

Connect the agent to a repository or workspace so it has real context.

Once connected, the agent can read project structure and help with development tasks — reviews, explanations, and code changes.

Step 6 — Ask your first question

Try prompts like:

  • Explain this repository
  • Summarize the current project
  • Review the latest Merge Request
  • Help me understand this service
  • Generate code for a new feature
  • Find where this API is implemented
  • Explain this error

Responses use the context of your connected project, so answers stay more accurate and useful.

Step 7 — Keep exploring

When you’re comfortable with Agents, open the other workspaces:

  • Manage projects and tickets in Workspace
  • Overview active sessions in Atlas
  • Browse remote storage in Explorer
  • Query SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Test REST APIs
  • Connect over SSH and run Terminal sessions
  • Record Meetings with transcripts and summaries
  • Revisit activity in History

Updating and uninstalling

Clauge checks for updates on launch and prompts you when one is available. You can also grab the latest build from clauge.ai. See Updates for more detail.

Windows — Remove Clauge from Settings → Apps or Control Panel.

macOS — Move Clauge from Applications to the Trash.

Linux — Remove the package with your package manager (dpkg -r, rpm -e, or equivalent).
